Web Strategy

A website is part of your overall marketing strategy and as with every marketing tool it involves careful planning and a structured process flow. This ensures your website will give optimum return on investment.

Research

Understanding what the client needs and what the objectives are for the website is the most important part of the entire process. What clients want varies widely on a case-by-case basis. Information needs to collected to find out what the goals are for the outcome of the project. Sometimes clients find it difficult to verbalise what is required as they are unsure of the tools available. We guide the client through the aspects and pitfalls of the internet if this is required. The person responsible for the site in the company / business is determined at this stage.

A creative brief is undertaken to establish:
  • The target audience
  • The primary and secondary goals for the website
  • Current branding characteristics
  • Budget
  • Deadlines that need to be met

Plan

When the objective of the site has been established a design strategy is handcrafted to fit the client’s vision. The creative brief acts as the foundation of the plan. It provides basic information, such as what your timeframes are and who the target audience is. Your audience affects how the site is viewed i.e. pc, iphone, ipad.

At this stage further research is undertaken, sketches and mock-ups are designed and web tools are choosen.

Design

Templates are created for the client using graphics software in .png and .jpg formats. Pixel perfect templates are presented to clients and agreements are made on the design.

Develop

When a killer design has been completed coding begins. We develop web and mobile media on modern technology platforms. The base level functionality of each Web site we develop is typically coded in XHTML 1.0 Strict or HTML5, and then further developed and integrated with PHP, XML, CSS, ASP or ASPNET, Perl (on Unix Servers), SQL, Flash and Actionscript. SEO is completed during the development stage.

Test

Code is validated by using the validation tool provided by the W3C. Cross browser and platform testing is completed. A test site is uploaded for the client to view and any minor changes are amended.

Launch

Website launched and available for viewing on the www (world wide web).

Maintain
